With our impending nuptials right around the corner, it’s about time we start researching honeymoons. We’ve been kicking around the idea of a cruise. Not sure where, so I’ve been doing some serious Googling to find the perfect fit for our lovely get-away. I came across this article on Bridal Guide that lists some cruises that aren’t you’re typical Carnival cruise. I thought it might be helpful to others searching for a unique cruise too. —-> TOP 6 HONEYMOON CRUISES Photo Courtesy of Silver Sea Cruises

Scrolling through my Instagram feed one day, I luckily found the work of Rich Lander of CHARD Photographer (@Chard5Star). Immediately drawn to his style of photography, I went to his website (www.chardphoto.com) and contacted him about shooting our wedding. We met the next week and instantly I knew this was OUR photographer! About a month later, he shot our engagement session in Big Bear, which he suggested. He wanted to do something different and we loved the idea! I can’t say enough good things about Rich and his photography skills. He made us feel comfortable and at ease in front of the camera and the outcome was something that Nick and I both absolutely love! Here are some of our favorites.

This couple found me through a referral on Facebook. They recently moved from San Francisco to Riverside into a large, empty house just waiting to be filled with beautiful furnishings and a personal touch. They wanted to start in the kitchen, since it’s the room they use the most. What we did was stain the current cabinets a rich, dark finish and added sleek, stainless hardware. The counter tops were replaced with Cambria quartz and the back splash I designed from a variety of tiles. Pendant lights were added above the island and a chandelier above the new eat-in area. Comfortable seating was important, since they spend a lot of time in this room, so upholstered swivel bar stools sit next to the island and a round table with extra large seats were added to create a breakfast nook. A Roman shade, made from the same fabric as the bar stools and drapes were hung to add a softness and also to block the sun and heat. Now their kitchen is complete and is currently being used every day as the family hub. The next project in this home will be the formal living room and dining room.

After having their first baby, this couple knew it was time to find a larger home. Recently purchasing a big house with little style and a need for updating, this couple turned to me for help! Their only request was to make their new home comfortable and inviting without clutter. After meeting this couple, I knew that they were willing to take a little risk and were not afraid of color or pattern. Luckily, I’m a big fan of pattern and color, so I approached this home were my own. Wallpaper was installed on the large entry wall for drama. Stylish lighting fixtures in the entry and dining were added to give the home a nice, warm glow. Thick, plush carpet was installed to provide a soft area for the new baby to play and to provide warmth and comfort for all. Window coverings with unique patterns and colors were selected to add some visual interest. New furniture was chosen for all rooms with comfort, durability and style in mind. Artwork and accessories infused personality and added pops of color. With little to no instruction or special requests, turning this house into a home was one of my favorite projects so far. I was able to combine their request with my design style and create a home that is comfortable and welcoming with some stylish twists. The next project will be the kitchen.
