For a while now, I’ve been loving rustic wood pieces, especially when paired with a more contemporary and modern setting like this one above. I love the contrast of worn wood with grooves and notches against this stark white interior. It creates visual interest and combines old + new.
Rustic wood can be used in a variety of clever ways throughout your home. I love this sliding door which they used from an old barn or stable door, it looks like. Once again, it’s contrasted against a white interior! LOVE! The leather and wood beams also tie in with rustic-ness.
How cool are these stairs composed of rustic wood planks? You just want to make sure you’re using strong rustic wood versus, old and decaying wood on this project!
I love the idea of building a custom bathroom vanity out of rustic wood. It looks great against the white wood paneling. Lots of good things are happening here in this image – rustic wood against white, long horizontal lines are created from the wood paneling, the extra large round mirror hanging above a rectangular shape is visually appealing, the rustic light fixture paired with the modern shaped mirror is genius. Love it all.
I’ve always had a thing for rustic wood dining tables. I think they are so warm and inviting.
Rustic wood can also be carried over into the office area. I like this look, but I can’t imagine writing checks or notes on this surface with all the grooves.
The wood beams in this interior and the wood floor gives a lot of character to this space. The white and the wood are really playing off each other here.
I thought I’d add this sweet image even though it’s not so much an interior shot, but I love the use of rustic wood here. How simple and cool!
Happy Monday everyone! I hope you’re off to a good start to a great week!

Great post, Jami! Love incorporating this rustic look into a contemporary design. Especially love the exposed beams surrounding the doorway and the sliding wood door. Thanks for the great photos!
