Rain, rain go away…
It has been pouring all week here in Southern California and it is not going to quit! Torrential rains are expected to continue throughout the rest of the week. Yikes. Here’s a hot tottie to keep all you Californians warm.
Hot Buttered Rum

Ingredients
- 1 stick of softened unsalted butter
- 2 cups of light brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon of grated nutmeg
- Pinch of ground cloves
- Pinch of salt
- Bottle of dark rum
- Boiling water
- Directions
- In a bowl, cream together the butter, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, and salt. Refrigerate until almost firm. Spoon about 2 tablespoons of the butter mixture into 12 small mugs. Pour about 3 ounces of rum into each mug (filling about halfway). Top with boiling water (to fill the remaining half), stir well, and serve immediately.

Can you believe this storm??? It's supposed to be worse today so stay inside if you can! I've got to pick the kiddos up at 2 and I'm thinking right about the time I make their hot cocoa I might have to make myself a Hot Tottie!! 😉
