As I was organizing my desk yesterday (images from ~ Pink Wallpaper’s July 15th Blog post ~ inspired me to get my act together) I came across some interesting and simple solutions in my files. This solution I found in my “Getting Organized” handout from Real Simple. Gotta love them!

In less time than it take to heat up last night’s leftovers, ordinary kitchen items can step up to the plate in plenty of unexpected ways.
ice-cube tray
- Cut the cookie dough. Roll the dough flat, then press an upside-down ice-cube tray into it for a dozen or more identical treats. Use trays with different shapes (stars, hearts) for miniature holiday cookies. Tip: This works best with trays with outer rims that don’t extend higher than the inner dividers.
- Organize desk supplies, like thumbtacks and paper clips, or sewing notions, like buttons, beads, hooks and eyes.
- Freeze extra pesto, leftover cooking cooking wine, broth, and sauces for cooking. Then store the cubes in freezer bags until you’re ready to use them.
