*use the same color for all of the trim, doors, and ceilings throughout your entire home*
This helps to achieve a sense of continuity from one room to the next. Choose a neutral color, such as a smooth white, that complements your home’s décor and strikes a pleasing contrast to all of your paint colors.”

It makes such a big difference. I learned this few years back and it so helps unify the house (especially if you live in a quirky – added on to 24 times house like mine)
