This specifically struck a cord in me because there are so many times when I’m sitting on my computer, reading through blogs, looking at images on Pinterest, finding inspiration on home and garden websites, bookmarking new products I’d like to recommend and sometimes it really doesn’t feel like work. And I feel like I should be doing more. Anyone else out there in a creative profession feel like this?
I do strongly believe that it takes time to cultivate ideas and inspiration and that’s how I justify the countless hours of “research” that I conduct on a daily basis just to find that perfect image, product, quote, pillow, color, fabric, cabinet, layout…etc. But it is sometimes aggravating to be working at such a slow pace. Do you know what I mean? Sometimes I just want to be out and about, talking to people, wheelin’ and dealin’, getting stuff done.
I need to remind myself every once in a while that the creative process takes time. Little quotes like these help me a lot! I’m very thankful that I get to do what I do and love it. So next time I’m starting to feel those little tinges on guilt creeping on while I’m sipping on my morning coffee, clicking through design sites, I’ll remind myself, it’s all in the name of design!

I love this thought – and I have the same one saved on one of my Pin boards because I couldn't agree more!
Much love,

i love what you wrote although i often wonder if all of the staring on blogs and magazines (sometimes i find myself looking at both at once) is a help or a hindrance since i often feel like i have seen everything, there is nothing creative i can do differently or better than anyone else, etc. it's hard to remove yourself from it or to realize that you are being compared with others that you know, and not everyone you look at on the internet!

Creativity takes time. I definitely feel one needs to be inspired. At times it would be nice to "snap" our fingers and make it happen however, its just not possible. And "creative" time is never, ever, ever, wasted time. Never.
That saying is so true. Thanks for sharing it:-)
