This is how the kitchen looked when I started the project:

As you can see, there is a big difference already. We decided to open up the home and create a large entertaining area which combines the kitchen, family, game and dining rooms into one large room.

The wall behind the wing back chairs (from picture one above) was taken down to provide for an open kitchen. The window on the right of the photo has been replaced by a French door.

This is how the family room looked after the French doors were installed and the new drywall was finished:

The windows were both replaced by French doors leading out to the backyard and the fireplace surround was completely changed with a new façade and drywall.

As you can see, the wall dividing the entryway and this space was taken down to make the space feel more open. The door from the garage was also moved to this room, to allow for more cabinet space in the newly remodeled kitchen.

I don’t have any photos of the before of this part of the space, but here is a photo of the living room, which is now turned into the new dining room:

The only existing item in this space was the sliding door on the right. The sliding door on the left was moved from a different location in the kitchen to allow for more cabinet space in the kitchen and to allow for symmetry here in the new dining room. I added two small narrow windows.
